Getting Started
Nao Now’s curriculum is built by U.S. education experts and incorporates TOEFL standards, the theory of multiple intelligences, and diverse learning styles. We cover cultural topics like the UN, STEM, and pop culture, and our mentors come from top U.S. universities. This combination of high-quality teachers and modern technology makes learning more effective. Our curriculum is also integrated with AI-powered feedback tools and supports CEFR-level progression to help students advance faster.
Nao Now mentors come from three main backgrounds: (1) professional ESL teachers, (2) Ivy League students or graduates, and (3) top university graduates with strong academic and communication skills. Over 90% of our mentors are native English speakers, primarily based in North America. All mentors are carefully selected and trained to support learners of different ages, levels, and learning styles. Studying with native speakers helps improve pronunciation, vocabulary, and cultural fluency.

Each class includes a live 1:1 session with your mentor, access to digital learning materials used during the lesson, and personalized feedback afterward. You’ll receive a video recording of your session, optional homework with comments, and continued access to your dashboard resources. You can also submit a short speaking video to receive AI-generated feedback on your pronunciation and fluency. All materials are digital—printed resources are not provided.

Your English level is determined during the trial class. During the session, your mentor will assess your fluency, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and reading skills to place you at the right level.

You can choose to continue with the same mentor or experience lessons with different ones. Many students enjoy consistent sessions with one mentor, which helps build rapport and continuity. If you want to book the same mentor at a regular time each week, you can reserve a recurring schedule for 1 or 3 months. However, availability is not guaranteed and may change due to the mentor’s schedule.
Yes. You can select your mentor when booking a class on the Nao Now dashboard. You can view mentor profiles, check availability, and choose based on your preferences. If your trial mentor is available for regular classes, you can continue with them. If not, you may choose another mentor who matches your schedule. You can also change mentors between lessons or cancel a scheduled class 24 hours in advance if you’d like to switch. If your preferred mentor is unavailable, our team is happy to help match you with someone who fits your schedule and goals.
Taking Lessons
A trial class is a free introductory session that lets you experience what Nao Now is like before purchasing a package. It typically lasts 25–30 minutes and focuses on helping us understand your level and preferences. Regular classes are either 25 or 50 minutes long, offering full access to your mentor, lesson materials, and personalized learning goals.

Classes are held online through the Nao Now dashboard, available year-round on weekdays and weekends. You can book at times that suit your schedule, and there’s no requirement to stick to a fixed weekly time. However, classes must be booked at least 48 hours in advance due to time zone differences between students and mentors. For best results, we recommend using a laptop or desktop with a stable internet connection.
If you cancel at least 24 hours in advance, your credit will be refunded. If a tech issue on our side prevents class attendance, we’ll refund the credit. Technical problems on the student's side are not refundable. To avoid issues, test your internet, audio, and video setup ahead of time.
Join your class from a quiet space and log in 5 minutes early to test your tech. While prep isn’t required, reviewing vocabulary or lesson materials beforehand can boost your confidence. We also recommend completing optional homework to build writing and speaking skills between sessions.
